Q2 2025 Highlights for ISP Operators
In short: Sonar's Q2 2025 release added multi-network billing, a deeper Calix Cloud integration, and spam filtering, with dual-service provisioning, new triggers, and a HubSpot integration on the Q3 roadmap. I know you're busy, so I'll keep this simple: here's what's improved, what's brand new, and what you can expect to see next from Sonar.
Multi-Company SMx Support
This one's for the folks who've acquired another network, or who operate across multiple SMx environments. You can now configure multiple SMx integrations in a single Sonar instance. It might not be sexy, but it's very useful, especially if you're consolidating billing across different networks.
Calix Cloud Integration
We built a proper API-driven integration (in partnership with the Calix team) that positions Sonar as the record of truth and syncs key account data into the Calix Cloud ecosystem. Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, all of it. Enjoy new account deep links, near real-time data updates, and say goodbye to overnight CSV data dumps.
VETRO FiberMap v3
We upgraded to VETRO's new "v3" API endpoints, which means better security and performance. If you were on "v2", you'll want to migrate. We've made this a self-service process so you don't have to book a call just to flip the switch.
sonarPay Canada
Same great payments solution, just tailored for compliance in the great white north. Eliminate the gap between your payments vendor & Sonar and instantly unlock the benefits. One team, one phone number, and now available in Canada.
Updates That Make Everyday Subscriber Support Easier
Full Email Body Visibility
You can finally see the full content of sent emails inside Sonar, complete with variables, just as your customer saw it. It sounds basic, but it makes it easier than ever to support your customers better.
Better Delivery Status
We expanded the delivery statuses for outbound email. So now if a message fails or gets delayed, you'll know exactly what happened (and where it got stuck).
Spam Filtering (Inbound)
Sonar now flags and separates out spam tickets so your team isn't wasting time manually deleting "Your invoice is attached" phishing attempts from fake senders. Your inbox should be a tool, not a junk drawer.
Quietly Powerful Workflow Updates
Custom Links, Now on More Entities
We expanded Custom Links beyond accounts. You can now stick external links on:
Network Sites
Serviceable Addresses
Which means fewer browser tabs, less hunting, and cleaner workflows, especially if you're leveraging tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or camera feeds.
Link Services to Inventory
You can now programmatically associate a specific piece of inventory (say, an or router) with the exact service it supports on an account. It's not a required field, and we're not doing anything automated with it, yet,but the structure is now in place.
Also: bulk link tools are included to help with the backfill.
FCC Label Generator - Now Compliant with the New Rules
The FCC changed the rules. Our free broadband nutrition label generator changed with them. There's no more ACP references, updated bundle logic, and most importantly, the new output format is live and ready to be used.
If you're a US-based provider, this will matter starting October 10, 2025. If you already used the tool last year, just be aware that new labels follow the new standard and old ones don't.

Coming in Q3: Dual Services, New Triggers, and HubSpot
Dual Account Data Services
For the first time in Sonar, you'll be able to bill and provision two distinct data services on the same account by defining a Primary & Secondary.
Use cases:
Fiber + wireless backup
Residential + work-from-home
Or anything else that doesn't logically split into multiple accounts
This option will be off by default, behind a system setting. If your current setup works fine for you, no action needed. If this is something you've wanted forever… hang tight. It's rolling out in August.
Task Groups
Just like ticket groups, but for tasks. Assign to a group, let someone pick it up. Helps avoid tasks going stale or bouncing between people.
Ticketing Improvements
Subcategories: A layer deeper for when "Install Issue" covers too much ground.
Resolution Codes: Track and report on howissues were resolved, not just that they were.
"Tech is on the way" Trigger
You'll be able to send customers a message when a technician finishes one job and is heading to the next. This will be supported by our field tech mobile app and supports both SMS and email.
Anchor Link + Packages
We're bringing packages into the Anchor Link world. If you're serving MDUs, business parks, etc., this gives you more structure and flexibility to your service catalogue.
HubSpot Integration
Introducing a natively supported intersection between Sonar and HubSpot. With basic automated record updates planned to start, the sky is the limit from there. Let us know what you'd like to see!
Billing Framework Upgrades
We're working on two additions:
30-Day Billing Cycle: Not the same as monthly. This is for those of you who need fixed-length billing intervals that don't follow calendar months, like in the world of MVNOs.
Automated Fee Application: Think credit card surcharges, NSF fees, auto-pay discounts, etc. Rather than bolt these on one at a time, we're building the foundation to support all of them. More details to come as to which fee(s) will be supported with the initial release.
New Roadmap Experience (Live August 8)

If you're anything like me, you love talking shop and hearing how other ISPs tackle the endless challenges that come with the territory. Bandwidth is a podcast that I co-host with Georgette Lopez-Aguado & Larry Weidig where we do just that. In each episode, we dig deep into the topics that matter most to operators like you, keeping it conversational, human, and honest.
You can find it on bandwidth.show, YouTube,SpotifyandApple.
That's It
We're shipping real stuff, guided by real feedback, with real outcomes. Thanks for being part of the Sonar journey, and for pushing us to keep getting better.
If anything here made you say "finally," "wait, what?" or "I want that," let us know. Our team listens, and we build accordingly.
